Although Veal did say Midland Park Lake (Little Lake) was at the present time in fairly good shape, he did em- phasize that his statement related to present growth. If build- up of the drainage area did continue, it . would -surely be the main factor contributing to pollution. Veal went on to say that storm sewers, sea gulls and man himself were the main reasons for the present standards of Little Lake. Questions dealing with weed growth were asked during Veal's talk on Little Lake to which he stated that last summer was one of the best years for the sur- vival of these weeds with maby other lakes having the same problem. Veal went on to show slides depicting certain types of pollution. The green scum, that is pollution, comes also in red and yellow colors as » well. Some lakes with a heavy weed growth are now being cut and har- vested with hope of using the dried weeds for possibly animal feed of some sort. He went on to show slides of insects that live in our lake and told the members that a lot can be learned about the quality of the water by the insects and bacteria that live in such water. > The wild game supper Coldwater draw announced _ byE.
