Staff photo Ministry personnel meet Separate Board Six members of the primary-junior curriculum committee of the Central Regional office of the Ministry of Education were present at last week's meeting of the Simcoe County Roman Catholic Separate School board. Members of the team briefly reviewed the' minister's interpretation of primary and junior curriculums, pointing out that a stress on the basic skills was expected by the schools, among other things. ; Trustees Healey and Brennan reported to the meeting on the recent meeting of the Ontario Separate Schools trustees' association which they recently attended in Toronto. Although the grant was not exactly a "windfall", $80,000 had been allocated to the central region, working out to 10 cents per pupil. Macdonald also announced at the recent meeting that «Therese Belcourt, had jbeen appointed principal of Martyrs Canadiens School in Perkinsfield. Jobin, also of Toronto, as 1975 president of the Wym- bolwood Beach Association Inc. and offices of the organization have been moved to the Wyevale area where J.G. Houston, newly elected secretary-treasurer, resides. The latter succeeds H.D. Harvey who will remain a member of the board. Stephen C.G. Lowes also of Wyevale remains as past president. Russell had earlier helped the driver put out a fire in the vehicle, and court was told he informed the trucker 'I told you you should have given me some chicken...' He also noted that "your parents are behind you." representing - Georgian Senior Citizens Club meets The monthly meeting of the Georgian Group Senior Citizens Club was held in the recreation room of the, Canadian Legion. on Thur- sday April 10, with vice- president Mrs. Hilda Savage _ conducting the meeting owing to the illness of the president Mrs. Hilda Johnson. It was opened with the singing of O Canada with Mrs. Ada McGouigan as pianist. A Star Membership cer- tificate was received by the club for having 29 star members, and there was also an announcement that the 17th convention of the United Senior Citizens of Ontario would be held in Ottawa in August, and one that a musical adaption of Little Women would be held in Barrie on May 1, 2, 3. Mrs. Laura Belfry read the resignation of Mrs. McGouigan as secretary of the action age grant com- mittee. Reports from this committee followed with discussion. ; An invitation from Mr. and Mrs. McGouigan to hold our annual garden party in June at their lakeside home was accepted. Mrs. Dorothy Rogers reported for the social committee and thanked Mr. J. Bonner for a donation. It was decided a bus trip to the Kitchener area would be taken when the weather was warmer. Discussion was held regarding activities for the Lion's Club Bazaar on June 29. Following ad- journment , cards and lunch were enjoyed. Dr. and Mrs. R.C. Wade of Toronto visited Mrs. Wade's brother and sister-in-law Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Eplett last week. Dr. and Mrs. Wade haye just returned from a trip around the world.
