Town police First moped heist of season Spring looks like it's finally coming, and with it the arrival of the new moped fad, the powered bicycles that are capable of speeds of 30 miles per hour -- and for which you don't need a driver's licence, insurance or a helmet. But the machines have already attracted at least one area crook. Last Wed- nesday evening, Nelson Lalonde of Desroches Sports reported a moped valued at $400 stolen. It was recovered by town police the following morning at 8:20 a.m. in McGuire Park. And another car theft 6 y A car stolen last weekend from the Post Office parking lot in Penetanguishene was recovered Sunday evening in Tay Township by the Ontario Provincial Police. The 1965 Buick, owned by Michael Dusome of Highland Point and valued.at $400, had been completely stripped, and sat with its windows smashed and convertible top slit. Police are still in- ' vestigating the incident. Lions club members from an area bordered by Markham and Unionville to the south, Beaverton and Sunderland on the east, Collingwood on the West, and Huntsville and Parry Sound on the north, will be converging on the Midland' Civic Centre beginning on Friday.
