recreation scene by Ron Marchildon ° Penetanguishene recreation coordinator congratulations to Brian Orser who won a gold 'm.Wal at the Winter Games. I cannot think of a person who works harder and takes his success as well as Brian. To a fine young man and sportsman our sincere congratulations for a job well done. The Girls ringette league held a 50-50 draw last Thursday. JoAnne Lacroix of 46 Robert Street East with Ticket No. 342 won $198.73. Congratulations JoAnn. To all those who did not win our thanks to you for helping support this activity. It seems that adults must be reminded every once in a while that they are supposed to set examples for younger people to follow. With this in mind I must warn all people using the schools for recreational activities that smoking is not allowed on the school premises and that the custodial staff will co-operate with us as long as we co-operate with them. In the very near future organizational meetings will be held for soccer. Boys and girls softball etc. Parents are urged to come out and help get these programs organized on a club basis. Without an executive behind them they cannot and will not function this coming year. Make some kind of effort to get yourself involved as a coach, manager, umpire or executive, because without you there will be no program.
