Rev. Sid Maddock Elected to Parks Board Reverand Sid Maddock was unanimously elected chairman of the Penetanguishene Parks and Recreation Board at the board's inagural meeting last Thursday. He was unopposed. Rev. Maddock is the minister for the All Saints Church in Penetanguishene. Last year's chairman Don Charlebois declined to run for re-election to the post although he remains a member of the board During the meeting Ron Bellisle asked about lights at McGuire park. He was told that a man from Kraus- Hinnes is working on a design for placement of lights and will be presenting a cost estimate at a later date In other business the board passed a motion stating that the Penetanguishene Junior Hurons will lose their building privileges and will be forced to pay cash for each time they use the ice if their ice time bill is not brought up to date by January 31. Midgets win two The Penetanguishene Midget Allstars laced Collingwood 6-2 at home in the Penetanguishene Arena on January 18 Collingwood skated with the Penetanguishene Midgets for the first two periods, playing to a 1-1 tie in the first 'and trailing Penetanguishene by only a goal at the end of the second period which ended in a 3-2 score In the Penetanguishene took command and out- scoring Collingwood three goals to none to cap off a 6-2 victory. Assistant Captain Larry third the Midgets Cowan popped in Penetanguishene's first period marker Andy Lacroix and Brian Pilon each banged in second period markers for the home town allstars Cowan and Pilon each scored their second goals of the game in the final period which along with a single by Amy Gignac lifted Penetanguishene to a con- vincing 6-2 victory. Pilon picked up two assists in the game. Single assists went to : James Dalmer, Andy Lacroix, Ken Parent, Mare Duquette, and Amy Gignac. It took a while for the Penetanguishene Midgets in particular Mare Duquette to get untracked but when they did it was no contest in Friday's away from home game against the Borden all- stars. Borden wasted no time in opening the scoring at the 39 second mark of the first period. Borden managed to shut out the Penetanguishene allstars 2-0 in the second period and looked like it had the game well in hand when it managed to increase its lead to 4-1 with an early third period goal. That's when captain Mare Duquette and the Penetanguishene Midget's started to play hockey. Duquette and Ken Mar childon combined to set up the first of Penetanguishene's six third period goals by Brian Pilon. Then Duquette proceeded to drill in four goals to go along with a single by Ken Marchildon enabling the Midgets to score a 7-4 come from behind victory. Ken Marchildon, Brian Pilon, Andy Lacroix, and Mare Duquette accounted for all of the Midget's goalscoring. Duquette picked up four goals and an assist, Pilon - a goal and four assists, Marchildon a goal and three assists, Lacroix -a goal and an assist.
