recreation scene by Ron Marchildon # Penetanguishene recreation coordinator This past week saw the beginning of some very successful programs. The adult art class being held at the Georgian Manor on Monday evenings attracted a first night crowd of 21 people. More people can be accommodated in the class if they pick up forms at the town office before next Monday. The Yoga class seems to be a success. This class is held at Burkevale School on Monday evenings. Mixed volleyball saw the formation of a four team league. Games are to be played at Corpus Christi school on Wednesday evenings. The Archery Club which we hoped to start last Thursday did not materialize because of a lack of equipment. The necessary equipment has now been ordered and hopefully will begin Thursday, January 30. Listen to C.K.M.P. radio for verification of this date We are hoping that the teen dances planned for Friday evenings in the Arena Lounge will be a tremendous success. The admission is only 50 cents Recorded music is supplied. We are looking forward to these dances being well attended and to satisfy the needs of the age group from 12-17 years. If any parents are interested in supervising please contact me at the arena and leave your name and phone number. If anyone is interested in other courses or classes please contact me. Such things as leather crafts, macrame, quilting, etc. could be organized if enough people are interested. The next stretch and sew course has been scheduled for the week of March 31 to April 4. The lingere course will be evenings only from 7 to 9 p.m. The cost is $15.00 per person. Friday evening will be dedicated to bathing suits. People may come for that one evening only for a cost of $3.00. Registration forms will be available in the next few weeks. Please pre-register early so we know ap- proximately how many people to prepare for.
