Junior Girls Ringette Sabres 12 Rangers 6 The high flying Sabres defeated the second place Rangers to continue their unbeaten streak. Janet Belcourt led the potent Sabre attack with six goals. Cindy Cadeau netted three goals while Wanda Buttineau had two goals and Denise Gignac one goal. Janine King scored three goals in a losing cause while singles were scored by Michelle Morrow, Denise Lacroix and Debbie Cadeau. Red Wings 16 Leafs 1 Bev Beauchamp's 10 goals with six goals being scored by Pauline Robillard and Patti Beausoleil's excellent goal tending were very instrumental in the Red Wings lobsided win over the Leafs. Pat Marchand had the only goal for the Leafs. Perkies split games, remain in third place eS Dave Ogalvie the Perkinsfield Perkies , a New Year's resolution to win all their games in 1975, they forgot it 'on their first outing last Thursday but recalled it in time for Sunday's game against Elmvale. Playing on Elmvale's home ice, the Perkies skated away with a 3-1 victory, which places them in about third place in the six team Elmvale and District Senior Hockey League. The two Andy's, Parent and Maheu led the Perkies with a goal and an assist apiece. Dave Ogilvie scored the remaining Perkie goal. Gary Preston and Andy Parent picked up ssists on the scoring play. Preston earned assists on all three Perkie goals. The Perkies complained bitterly that Elmvale's lone goal with less than three minutes remaining in the game was scored after the whistle was blown. Although they were unable to change the referee's opinion, teammates credited goalie Ted Preston with an unofficial shutout. The Perkinsfield Perkies started the New Year off on the wrong foot by dropping a close 7-6 decision to KIL last Thursday in Elmvale. Despite losing their third game in as many starts the Perkies performed well and actually outscored KIL in two of the three periods. The only problem is that hockey is a three period game and in a disasterous second period (from Perkinsfield's point of view) the Perkies were blanked 3-0. That gave KILa 5-3 lead going into the final frame where Perkinsfield outscored the Midland team 3-2 but fell short on the overall scoreboard 7-6. The loss leaves the Perkies in fourth place with four wins, five losses, and a tie - good for nine points. League leading Mansfield has 14 points, followed by KIL with 13, Wyevale 12, Perkinsfield 9, Elmvale 9, and Midhurst 3. Andy Parent opened the scoring last Thursday for the Perkies by rifling a puck past the KIL's Gary Ronald less than a minute into the game. Andy Maheu drew an assist on the play. Wayne the Bear Simpson drilled in the second Perkinsfield goal on a screened slapshot from the point. The two Andys, Parent and Maheu picked up assists on the goal. After the goal by the slow motion Bear speedy Richard Beans Lefaive found the net by flipping home a pass from John McGowan. Trailing 5-3 going into the third period, the Perkies fought back getting goals by Jules Duquette, John McGowan, ¢ and Dave Ogilvie. Ogilvie's goal was an unassisted _ effort. Raymond Parent, Don Bazinette, Beans Lefaive, and D. Webb earned assists on the other two third period markers. Ken Popple_ scored Emery's only goal of the middle frame _ giving Electric a 3-1 lead, but Brian Merkley and Mike Pud- dicombe tied things up late » in the second period. Two quick goals by the league's scoring leader, little Kenny Edgar gave IGA a 5-3 lead with just under eight minutes to play. And then the roof fell in as IGA's forwards stopped backchecking and the defencemen were caught up ice. Jim Dagenais started Emery's third period comeback when he was allowed to sail in alone on the powered Chicago to a 4-3 victory over Montreal.
