Floyd Caldwell was found guilty of a Terrace Bay Police Services charge of careless storage of a firearm. His fine was $300 and a conditional discharge. Jean Paul Poulin was found guilty of a Schreiber OPP charge of assaulting the police. His penalty was 60 hours of community service work and an apology to Const. Bannon. The snowmobile season is here again, and the OPP would like to remind the public of some of the laws pertaining to your safety and enjoyment. When operating your machine on a road, such as within the Township of Schreiber, the speed limit for snowmobiles is 20 km/hr, not 50 km/hr. As a result, the President of the O.A.C.P. has written a letter to the Premier setting out the Board's concems and inviting the Premier's response. Chief Barber expresses his hope that this will assist the finding solutions to the current problems. No further comment will be made by the O.A.C.P. until the Premier has had an opportunity to respond to our request for a meeting.
