MOE believes that the major source of odour at the mill is the spills pond, and Griffin says the min- istry hopes to set up a mobile monitoring station next to the pond to make absolutely sure that it's the source of odour. "There are times when the wind is so light that we're not sure whether the odour problem is originat- ing at the spills pond or with the mill's stacks," he says. "We want to position the mobile station between the spills pond and the lagoon. That will deter- mine whether the pond is the major source of odour or not."
