"T would like to suggest that some of the people who were here could form a committee," Krause told a meeting of Schreiber Council Feb. 4. During the Jan. 21 meeting of Council, residents who were angry about the increase in the price of dog tags attended the meeting t express. their opposition. "I admire everyone that came forward," Krause said. "Tt throws a lot of light on the problem." He said that if a few of the people who attended the meet- ing formed a committee, they could make recommendations to Council on what changes ward,"' > | admire every- one that came for- Reeve Bob Krause should be made to the by-law. Such a committee would examine things such as dog licences and fine structures, Krause said. In the last two weeks, nine charges have been laid for vio- lations of the Animal Control by-law, and offenders will have to go to court to pay their fines. Previously, people could pay their fines directly to the municipality. One hundred and seventy- eight dog tags were sold before the new prices went into effect Feb. 1, out of an estimated 250 dogs in Schreiber. 3 "There sa quite a few dogs running around out there without a licence," said Councillor Ron.
