The hospital has raised about $120,000 for the "Freddy the Fracture Finder" fund so far. A new machine is expected to cost $350,000. "We don't like to be pester- ing people all the time," Fewer says. "The old X-ray machine is old, and it's not giving good pictures;" he says. The hospital has employed a number of methods to raise money, including selling t- shirts, baseball caps, and calen- dars. The calendars, which sell for $20 each, are part of a lottery the McCausland is holding. On Jan. 1, a draw for $1,000 will be held.
