Richardson Chair Community briefs by Darren MacDonald Moose season begins The 1991 moose hunting season Officially began on Saturday in the Terrace Bay/ Schreiber region. The Ministry of natural resources issued 29,965 tags this year, down 4.8 per cent from 1990. The reduction in the number of tags is attributed to the increased success rate of hunters, lead- ing to the over harvesting of bulls and cows. The tag program was introduced in 1983 to try and increase the numbers of adult moose by placing a limit on the number killed by hunters.
