The Howard Solly Memorial Golf Tournament Aguasabon Golf Club, June 8 In other skating news, Jodi Figliomeni recently received a certificate from the Canadian Figure Skating Association for passing the Junior Bronze Free Skating Test at a test day held in Terrace Bay in March. Jodi was busy again in April travelling to Sudbury along with Kristina Walsh and Natalie and Shellie McParland to take part in a competition there. Jodi entered the Bronze Artistic event and, although not placing in the medals, did very well against Brandi-Lee Rousseau who took 1st place. (Brandi-Lee was a Bronze medal winner at the Canada Winter Games this year and was featured at the Terrace Bay Figure Skating Club's ice show in March). Jodi placed 2nd in the Junior Bronze Ladies B event and brought home a silver medal to Schreiber. Shellie and Natalie McParland entered the Preliminary Ladies A event while Kristina Walsh competed in the Junior Bronze Ladies A event. Despite not winning any medals, these girls enjoyed the competition and an afternoon of exploring Science North. The club's two coaches, after a well-earned break, are back into their skates this month in Sault Ste. Marie. They will be attending courses to upgrade their coaching skills. Also returning to the ice in July, Deanna Figliomeni, Linnea Duffy, Lesley Pellegrino and Jodi Figliomeni have registered for the Thunder Bay Summer Skating School. These girls are in the Canfigureskate Program and Test Stream and are eligible to try C.F.S.A. tests at the school.
