When I told a friend of mine who had recommended the tape to me, he was quite upset. He pointed out to me that I was only reviewing the jokes ( which I thought were disgusting. ) and not the actual tape. He was right. I had let my own sense of morality interfere with giving a fair review. So here it is now. The tape is set up like a movie. At the beginning we see how Mr. Clay grew up to become the Diceman, but ( giving his parents the benefit of doubt) I think this is likely a fantasy. Then we see the actual concert performance. Mr. Clay does his usual routine, which the audience is familiar with - given the participation on the punchlines. At the end, the the impressions. Naturally the jokes were bizarre, but I've always been a sucker for impressions and Mr. Clay handles his fairly well. Now I still haven't changed my opinion of Andre Dice Clay, but I don't believe in censorship either. As he has publicly stated, over and over, "if you don't like the jokes, don't go to the show." This is very true. Mr. Clay has the right to express himself in any manner he chooses, as long as he doesn't try to force his opinions on anyone else. I also have the right to express my opinion. I don't like him. If you like jokes that are filled with swears, obscene comments and blatant bigotry, then this is the movie for you. If your humour level is a little bit more serene than that, you will likely be offended by this video. it is a very clear choice to make and thus I won't give any rating.
