The Bronco Potec rink, Thunder Bay, was the runner up in the 'A' event which was sonsored by Spadoni Bros., Schreiber. The 'B' event, sponsored by Kimberly-Clark Canada Inc. Terrace Bay, went to the Pavlo Pelligrino rink from Schreiber with Fred Figliomeni, Jim Commisso and Joey Figliomeni. The Terry O'Neill rink from Terrace Bay was Terrace Bay, with Gabe Cousineau, Bryan Whitney and Mike Stortini won the 'C' event, sponsored by Imperial Oil -Tom Cook Memorial. Runner up was the Rick Hamilton rink from Terrace Bay. Curtis Desrosiers, Bonspiel chairman, said the spiel, a 24 team event, was a huge suc- cess. "The curling was viewed by many spectators who wit- nessed some fine shot mak- ing," he said. Rademaker for the late Mrs. Anne Todesco in St. John Berchman Roman Catholic Church in Rossport. Reverend Father Campbell of St. Martin of Tours Roman Catholic Church in Terrace Bay assisted. Mrs. Clara Dupuis and Mrs. Vera Mannila both of Nipigon, were soloist and organ- ist respectively. Internment was in St. John Berchman Cemetary. Pallbearers were: Bill Needham, Stanley Zwaresh, Charlie Todesco, Cam Todesco, Art Douglas and Lorne Molinski. Mrs. Todesco was born Anne Loretta Douglas July 10, 1902 in Spanish, Ont. and was raised in | Webbwood, Ont. She was the eldest of 9 children born to Ellen and William Douglas. There are three surviving of the Douglas family: one sister, Cecelia Somers of Espanola Ont., and two brothers, Joseph Douglas of Sioux Narrows, Ont., and Jack Douglas of Webbwood, Ont. Anne Todesco taught elementary school in copperciliff, Birch Island (Manitoulin Island), Jackfish and Red Rock prior to her marriage to Charles (Camillo) Todesco in February 1928. Mrs. Todesco did resume teaching in the late 50's for a number of years at Schreiber, Ont. Mrs. Todesco is survived by her son John of Sarnia, Ont., her daughter Camilla of Don Mills, Ont., 4 grandchildren: Charlie Todesco of Chapleau, Ont., Charlene Kandilas of Burlington, Ont., Joanne Todesco of London, Ont., Laureen Todesco of Sarnia, Ont., and one great grandson Jonathon Todesco of Chapleau, Ont. She was predeceased by her husband Charles in February 1972. Mrs. Todesco was very active in community affairs through- out the sixty-two years she resided in Rossport. She was an active member of the Ladies' Altar Society of St. John Berchman Church, the Women's Institute, the Moose Lodge, the Chimo Club, the Rossport Curling Club and had served as a member of the local School Board, the McCausland Hospital Board in Terrace Bay, the Nipigon District Hospital Board and the Rossport Water Association. Mrs Todesco was the Rossport news corre- spondent for the Times-News and the Terrace Bay News for many years. Anne Todesco was a recipient of an Ontario Bicentennial Medal in 1984 from the Government of Ontario in recogni- tion for her valuable contribution to her community.
