The minutes of the previous meet- ing were read by Helen Jartus, Secretary. Treasurers reports were given by Pat Guina. He also gave the Bingo report for December, with Lucky Number win- ners, being: Muriel Mills, Marg Nesbitt, Irene Spicer, and Rena Daniels. Turkey winners were: Ken Davis and Melvin Cadey. Winners of the Bingo were: Winnie campbell and Marge Prebeschewski. Ontario Ministry of Labour Jack Handel gave a report on the- meeting he attended regarding the winter carnival. The Chimo Club will sponsor a soup and Sandwich Luncheon on Tue., Feb. 26 at the Clubrooms, with Leona Fournier as Convener. A Card Games night will also be held at the Clubrooms on Thur. Feb. 28. An invitation was received from the Lions Club for the members to attend a Sleighride in February. A list will be posted on the Bulletin Board for those wishing to attend. The Shuffleboard Tournament will resume after the New Year with the schedules ready for pickup on Tuesday next. It was also decided that for the enjoyment of the members the films and bingo games after the meetings will be alternated starting in January. The January meeting will be at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 18, with a pot-luck supper after the meeting. A V.C.R. film was shown to the members showing the skit that had been done by the women at the Christmas Party through the courtesy of Walter Acker. Birthday greetings were sung to Winnie Campbell, Betha Miller, Pat Guina, Saima Willoughby, Elma Haapa, and Vieno McLellan. Members enjoyed bingo, lunch and games following the meeting. Shuffleboard winners were: 1st: Ken Davis and Mavis Slater, 2nd: Mike McGrath and Mary Ihnatko. Silver Birch Chapter #264 Order of Eastern Star The Dec.10 meeting of the Silver Birch Chapter, O.E.S. was held in the Masonic Hall with Worthy Matron, Helen Jartus presiding with Worthy Patron, Jack Bryson. The Secretary's reports were given by Dorothy Rummery, P.D.D.G.M.., and the Treasurer's reports by hapter 142 Women of Senior Regent Jean Bozec wel- comed 24 co-workers at the busniess meeting held on December 16, 1990. Minutes of previos business and chapter meetings were read. Deposits verified by pro-tem Benita Vaillant. Correspondence was read which included a letter from Mooseheart informing the Chapter that Marathon Chapter will be hostess chapter for Chapter Rally Day on Jan. 13, 1991. Any member wishing to attend please contact Recorder Saide Benko by Jan. 5, 1991. _ Ann Querry and her committee were thanked for the excellent job they did with the children's Christmas Margaret Kragero, P.M. Music was provided by Organist, Sandra Qunton, P.D.D.G.M. Sick and visiting reports were given by Beth Macadam for Schreiber, and Mary Clara Papineau for Terrace Bay. The members had catered for a banquet for M.N.R. on Dec. 8, and would be catering for another one on Dec. 15 for Birchwood Terrace employees. A request was received from the Masonic Lodge to cater for the Robbie Burns' night on Saturday, January 26th; which was agreed. Four members were absent Installation night, and have now been installed, namely: Mrs. Karen Teniuk as Association Matron, Mrs. Coleen Glad, P.M. as Chaplain, Mrs. Elaine Mannisto, P.M. as Conductress, Mrs. Connie Bryson, P.M. as Electa. Members then retired to the lower hall for the Chapter's 40th birthday party. There are four Charter members left in the area locally at present, Mrs. Dorothy Rummery, Mrs. 'Margaret Kragero, Mrs. Elizabeth Harris, an Miss Barbara Haughn. Instead of Christmas gift exchange, members exchanged birth- day gifts as a humorous game. Lunch was served by Elaine Mannisto had made a lovely decorated Birthday Cake, which was cut by Dorothy and Margaret. The Worthy Matron and Worthy Patron extended a wish for a Merry Christmas to the members and their families, and a safe and Happy New Year. The Baptist church held their Christmas supper and all enjoyed the evening. Many friends attended. Get well wishes to J. Gagnon, Ida Gifford, Mrs. Todesco and Lucille Denomme. party. Trixie Bursey and Wendy Langford were also thanked for preparing the lovely Christmas dinner on December 15, 1990. Following adjournment Santa arrived and presented gifts to all co- workers. Christmas carols were sung accompanied by Henrietta Seilars with her guitar. Pot of gold was won by Rena Daniels. Minnie Woodruff won the raffle. Lovely buffet lunch was served by Ann Querry, Natalie Boucher, Rena Daniels, Shona Patriquin and Henrietta Sellars. Birthday wishes were extended to Vicki Kostiuk, Rena Daniels, Trixie Bursey and Henrietta Sellars. Superior High School. P.
