Page 8, News, Tuesday, November 27, 1990 Anglican Church Women's Bazaar by Winnie Campbell A most successful bazaar was held on Saturday, November 17 by the members of the A.C.W. of St. Johns Anglican Church in Schreiber's Legion Hall. ; The hall was suitably decorat- ed for the event with a Christmas Tree, Christmas table cloths and serviettes at the tea tables which were also centered with a Christmas centerpiece. Large tables were fully stocked with colourful knitted goods, crocheting, and various other items. The craft tables showed the many talents of those who had made the beautiful deco- rations, and craft items. The bake table also was well stocked with many varieties of baking, puddings, candies, etc. The raffle tables also displayed the talents of those who had con- tributed them. To give the customers a chance to socialize and enjoy the talents of the kitchen, a delicious luncheon of turkey patties, jellied _salad, cole slaw and potato salad and cakes and squares with tea and coffee was served by the many servitors. Rather than miss someone who had worked, a sincere vote of thanks is extended to all the women of the A.C.W. who had worked so hard all day and those who had helped and donated in any way, which made this event so successful, plus a beautiful day, more like summer than Christmas. Senior girls of the Church had goods for sale. We thank them for their effort and assistance. Recycling newsprint Representatives of Environmental Awareness Group Encouraging Recycling talked to council members about recycling newsprint. A major concern for E.A.G.E.R. is the collection and storage of news- papers before shipment to a recycling facility. The group also talked about a home composting program sub- sidized through the Ministry of the Environment. The council was informed that a representative of MOE would be available to meet with both Terrace Bay and Schreiber 7 p.m. to discuss current avail- able funding for recycling enter- prises - Temporary doctor for Schreiber Council was informed that a second doctor for Schreiber would arrive on January 26. The doctor, a locum supplied by the Underserviced Area pro- gram, will stay for a period of three months. It will be necessary to obtain an apartment in Terrace Bay for the doctor until more permanent arrangements can be made.
