Winnie's Scribbles Beth Macadam is three quar- ters of a century of old so her Schreiber friends decided it was time she had a birthday party. It was held in the United Church hall on Saturday Oct. 13. It was a complete surprise to Beth. She was greeted with Happy Birthday to You in song when she entered the hall where between fifty and sixty people were assembled around tables decorat- ed with floral centre pieces. Jack Handel designed an appropriate sign which was auto- graphed by all attending the party. Eva Gordon, on behalf of Beth's friends, presented a card and a gift of money. Beth also opened individual *gifts and cards and responded fit- tingly. A delicious lunch was served by Eva Gordon, Cecile Bedard, Flora Bryson, Margaret Nesbitt, prepared for the Have you? Receiving at the door with Cathy was Brenda Cambell, mother of the bride , Simmone Singleton, grandmother of the groom and Kathleen Wowchuk, maid of honor. The guest book was attended by Amanda Mineau and Tracy Bryson. The gift table was attend- ed by Betty Ann McKenna. Pouring coffee and tea was Helen LeBlanc, 'Annette Campbell, Linda Bryson and Diane Maenpaa. Kitchen help included Mavis Godin, Helen Neilon, Theresa Jefferson, Majorie Prebushewski and Carol Anne Marshall. Servers Tama Gramatowski, Marlene McParland, Michelle Campell, Lisa Ray and Leigh Ann Cambell. Many attended and lovely gifts were received. Cathy gave her thanks to all who helped.
