After a dinner at the Schreiber Recreation Centre, teachers, families, relatives, and friends assembled in the LSHS gym to share the special day with the graduates. The High School Community Band played started off the proceedings with O Canada followed by an invocation by Reverend R. Elkin. Ruth Mulligan gave a memorable Principal's Address congratulating the students on their graduation and wishing them well in the future. Valedictorian Jason Shack gave a heartfelt address where he gave thanks to the teachers, parents, and fellow students who helped make the school years of the graduates ones they will always remember. He stressed how lucky the students were to live in a small town where the graduating class all knew each other. Jason also mentioned that the grad- uates had waited may years for this special day and now it had finally come. "Tonight is our night." Union Local 665 Bursary- Kaarlo Liukkonen Scholarships Ontario Scholarship- Jason Shack Auxiliary to the McCausland Hospital- Danielle St. Amand Darin Parise, a talented 24 year-old musician who lived in Terrace Bay before moving to Niagara Falls, produced the cas- settes along with James Anthony independently at Big House Recording Studios in Cambridge, about 40 miles from Toronto. The cassettes include ten songs featuring Parise's incredible talent on the banjo. . The recording took about two weeks and includes Parise on classic country tunes such as "Duelling Banjos", "Foggy Mountain Breakdown", and "Home Sweet Home". Four of the songs are originals written by Parise. The recordings feature other musicians such as Denny Dorothy - originally from the Mamas and Papas, 1989 Fender Guitar Wars Champion James Anthony, well- renowned fiddle player Carl Schreiber Town Councillor Ed Borutski (left) and Reeve Mike Cosgrove (right) present Mike Reid with a cheque for $2,500 for the Terrace Bay Golf Club. _--_ See story page 2. _TERRACE BAY INSURANCE LTD.
