The High School Gym will be available on Tuesday evenings from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. for anyone interested in participating in the Mixed Volleyball Program. This will be a drop-in type pro- gram and very non-competitive in nature. For more information contact the recreation office at 824-2317. The program will com- mence on Tuesday, September 26. Badminton Anyone interested in playing badminton on Monday nights from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. should contact the recreation office 'to register. The program will begin as soon as enough interest is shown. Gymnastics The recreation department has made arrangements for the usc of the Terrace Bay High School gym on Monday and Wednesday evenings from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. This program is being startcd with the intention of starting a gymnastics club. It is open to all residents of the surrounding arcas of Schreiber and Terrace Bay. We are in need of volunteers to help organize the program. We have one'coach, which is not enough to operate the program. Anyone. interested in assisting in any way should contact the recreation office at 824-2317 as soon as pos- sible. When we have enough vol- unteer help we will organize the program and commence opera- tion. Future Programs The recreation department will organize any onc of the following progranis if enough intercst is shown: Weight Training Technique and Principles - this course is designed to inform beginners in the use of the weight 'room apparatus, how to design a personal training program and instruction in safety and tech- nique. Learn to Skate, morning and afternoon scssion. First Aid, C.P.R. (Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation), Power Skating Clinic. If you are interested in any of these programs please call the recreation office and we will do our best to have these programs made available. . Special Events Calendar The recreation department is trying to organize a Fall and Winter Special Events Calendar. We have all the cvents happening in the recreation centre, however, we know there are a number of other events happening through- out the community. If your orga- nization would like to have thcir activity or event included in our calendar, please contact the recre- ation office at 824-2317. Terrace Bay Hockey, Ringette & Figure Skating Clubs are having a "REGISTRATION, SKATE & EQUIPMENT EXCHANGE on Wednesday, October 4th from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. in the Conference Room at the Recreation Centre
