The first game Saturday morn- ing had the league champion I- Team take on the 6th place Devils with the I-Team coming out on top 18-6. The next game had the 2nd place Sabres play the 5th place Expos and with last year's humili- ating defeat and elimination by the Diggers (30-11) still on their minds the Sabres came to the park this year with a purpose, to get revenge and respect. After six innings were played and the mercy ruled applied. the Sabres were victorious by the score of 19-4. The 3rd game of the tourna- ment saw the 3rd place Diggers play the 4th place Sluggers and the winner of this to play the Sabres Saturday afternoon. The Sabres hoping to meet the Diggers for a chance at revenge but things were not to be as the Sluggers outslugged the Diggers 20-10. The Devils then met the Expos with the Expos knocking out the Devils from the tourna- ment 18-6. The last game Saturday had the Sabres and Sluggers meet with the Sabres needing only six innings to defeat the Sluggers 31- 33 Sunday morning saw. the Diggers and Sluggers meet again with Diggers coming out on top 13-2. The next game had the lst place I-Team do battle with the 2nd place Sabres and when the dust had settled the Sabres had chiseled out a victory 14-13. Sunday at noon saw the Diggers defeat the Expos 18-14 with the Diggers moving on to meet their opponents in last year's championship final the I-Team. The I-Team as in last year's game defeated the Diggers 9-6. Now it was time for the cham- pionship game between the Sabres and the I-Team. As in their first meeting Sunday morn- ing, they didn't disappoint any of their fans in a well played hard fought contest with the Sabres being the new playoff champs 17- 10. Congratulations to the Sabres in winning the playoffs and to the I-Team, Diggérs, Sluggers, Expos and Devils for their participation in the playoffs. The Schreiber Men's Slow- Pitch League would like to thank all the umpires and score keepers for their services throughout the season and playoffs.
