Women of Moose meeting report Terrace Bay Chapter #1426 Women of the Moose held their Chapter night meeting on September 10. Senior Regent Shirley Laing chaired the meet- ing with 15 co-workers present. College of Regents chairman Alma Hart was in charge of Chapter night program. Recorder Sadie Benko gave the financial report which was verified by Treasurer Jean Bozec. Letter was read from Mooseheart informing the chap- ter that we had earned the Award of Achievement for 1988-89. Patricia Maenpaa agreed to be liaison officer between the chapter and the Loyal Order of Moose. 'A cheque was presented to the men at the family pot luck supper on Saturday, Sept. 16. Mooseheart chairman Heather Sechesky will be in charge of Hallowe'en party for ' children on Oct. 29th. Co-workers were in favor of holding a breakfast date to be finalized at next meeting. Pot of gold was won by Lorraine Clark. Penny auction took place following adjournment. Lovely lunch-was served by Collegian Alma Hart. Next meeting on September 24. Coming or going, Anne's keeping tabs By Anne Todesco The Don Tychoniak family have returned from a holiday at Ear Falls, Kenora and Sioux Narrows. Miss Camilla Todesco B.A., M.S.W., has returned to Toronto after spending two weeks visiting her mother, Mrs. Anne Todesco. Other guests with Mrs. Todesco was a Surprise visit from her cousin Zelda Gilmour and her husband Sparky of Indian River, Mich. U.S:A. There is a shrine of the Stations of the Cross in their home town. Francis Campigotto of Thunder Bay was another sur- prise visitor. Also Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Harris and family of Webbwood, Ontario all in one week, The Pierre Lemeirs spent the weekend at Thunder Bay with friends. I have heard the expression that it was raining cats and dogs but this one of frogs. A strong southeast wind accompanied by heavy rainfall blew baby frogs out of the small stream near where the curling rink old site. They were leaping across the street by the dozens in every direction. Dogs, gulls and some children were having a great time. Some of the little creatures were destroyed by cars. Mr. and Mrs. Nick Bain, Viana and Bramem have returned from visiting the Lionel Hubelit at St. Joes Island near the Canadian Soo. Owing to inclement weather, the village was very quiet over the holiday weekend as well as few tourists. Mrs. Todesco received word of the passing of her 97 year old aunt Irene, Mrs. Glen Cravath of New York on the 21 of August. Funeral services were held Thursday. Mrs. Hilda Mushqush is open- ing an ice cream, bar, candy, nuts, novelties, smoked and fresh fish in the lower floor of her home at Pays Plat Reserve. Also pop and fruit drinks. G. H. Bourguignon with Father Campbell and Father Rademaker in the Sanctuary. Prayers were offered by Father Rademaker on Monday evening. Many friends, neighbours and relatives attended the service. Active pallbearers were Russell McBride, Chris McBride, Michael Gerlach, Dean Lemieux, Sten Lif and Brian Duncan. Honorary pallbearers George Fisher, Harry Prescott, John Mikus, John Falzetta, Joe Caccamo and Wayne Wilson. Internment in Schreiber cemetery.
