Three clinics will be held on Wednesday, July 5th at White Sand Beach in Schreiber. All equipment will be supplied. Program This program is being offered to kids ages 7 to 13. Become a "JUNIOR SAILOR"! This two- day program will be held on Monday, July 17th and Tuesday, July 18th from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p-m., at White Sand Beach in Schreiber. Transportation will be provided. For more information, and to register, please call the Recreation Office at 825-3542. Swimming Pool News The pool is scheduled to open this week. Swimming lessons will start on July 4th. Those registered will be contacted by the staff, as to lesson times. REMEMBER: DEADLINE TO REGISTER FOR AUGUST SESSION IS JULY 14th. Summer Playground Our Summer Playground will begin on July 4th. The following is the schedule for the individual groups. Ernie & Bert - 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Tot Lot - 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. Summer Day Camp - 3 to 4 p.m. The staff have an exciting pro- gram lined up for this summer. Canada Day Celebrations Many exciting events have been scheduled for this year's Canada Day celebrations, in Terrace Bay. There will be a Bike Rodeo, Bingo, Pool Activities, Baby Pageant, Kiddie Karnival, Bonfire, Fireworks, Bridge & Crib Tournament, plus many more events. See the Canada Day Brochure for more details. Come out and make this 1989 celebra- tion the best ever. Schreiber Recreation Swim Program Registrations for this year's Swim Program have been dis- tributed through the schools. Lessons will once again be held at White Sand Beach. There is, however, a question on the regis- tration form asking for the pub- lic's input on where they would like to see the lessons next year. We ask that even if you are not registering anyone this year that you answer the question and return it to the recreation office so we can get a handle on what the public wants. Dr. A. Northerly Portion of the East Boundary of the Township of Bomby 2. Southerly Portion of the East Boundary of the Township of Brothers 3. Northerly Portion of the East Boundary of the Township of Laberge Copies of reports, plans and field notes of survey may be examined at the District Manager's Office, Terrace Bay, or at the office of the Surveyor General, Ministry of Natural Resources, 90 Sheppard Avenue East, 4th Floor, NORTH YORK, Ontario. The first session will begin July 10 and run through July 28. The second session will com- mence July 31 and run to August 18. Deadline for registrations is June 30 for Session 1 and July 21 for Session 2. Please note that there will be an administration fee of $5 for late registrations. Summer Fun The Summer Playground Program will begin Tuesday, July 4. It will be held at the Public School Gym every Monday to Friday. Registrations will be available at the school gym on the 4th. There's no deadline for regis- trations for this program. Our instructors this summer will be Cindy Luke, Cathy Birch and Brenda Webb. The girls have an exciting summer of activities so be sure to check out the Summer Fun Program. Canada Day Celebrations There will be Canada Day Celebrations held at the High School Parking Lot for the chil- dren on Saturday, July 1st from 12:15 to 4:00 p.m. The recreation committee has a fun afternoon of activities planned beginning with a Bicycle Decorating Contest at 12:15 p.m. There will be a parade of bicycles, a bicycle rodeo, games, candy floss, balloons and flags available for the children. If you are in town, bring the kids down, let them participate and take in some of the Rubber Boot Tournament while you are there. Canada Day 5 km Run/Walk The local organization will once again be holding its big Canada Day Run/Walk. Registrations can be picked up at the recreation office. The Run will be held. at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 1st. Come out and get a little exercise while enjoy- ing the socializing at the same time. Board Sailing Looking for something differ- ent? Want to learn a new water sport? Register for the Parks and Recreation Department Board Sailing Program. The course will be held at White Sand Beach on Wednesday, July Sth. Three - 3 hour courses will be available, all equipment will be supplied. The only requirements are that you be over 10 years of age, weigh more than 100 pounds, can tread water for 3 minutes and swim 50 yards fully clothed. Registration is $10 per 3 hour course and you can register for more than one course. There is limited space available so register now at the recreation office. T P. Payroll deduction has been termi- nated. In order to use the facilities or register for the various activi- ties, memberships must be paid, or user fees will be charged. Summer Hours Summer hours are now in effect and are as follows: Monday to Friday - 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. Saturday & Sunday - 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Sailing Look out - Here comes on of the most exciting summer pro- grams available to children 7 to 13 years of age - and it's FREE. The Ontario Sailing Association will be conducting a 2 day introductory Sailing and Racing Program to children 7 to 13 years of age at White Sand Beach on July 18 and 19 and it's FREE! As an added attraction there will be a Regatta held at the end of the program with the win- ners being eligible to attend a Provincial Championship for beginners in Souther Ontario. Funding will be available to help the winners attend the Provincial Regatta. No equipment is neces- sary so pick up your registrations at the recreation office now as there is limited space available for this program. Girl Guides If you wish to "pre-register" your daughter as a "new" Brownie (ages 6 to 9) or Guide (ages 9 to 12) please call Mrs. Rosann Pellegrini at 824-2823.
