TERRACE BAY/SCHREIBER NEWS « Court Report Criminal court was held March 8, 1989 with Judge Sandy Sargent presiding, and Robert Young representing the Crown Attorney's Office. Darcy Bain of Rossport, Neil Morriseau of Pays Plat and Steve Balsor of Terrace Bay failed to appear so the Judge issued war- rants for their arrest. Steven Bottomley of Schreiber pled guilty to an assault charge. He was given a $1,000 fine and one year probation. Wayne Chamberlain of Schreiber pled guilty to Impaired Driving and was fined $300 along with one year licence Suspension. Chamberlain was also fined $50 for a Fail to Appear for finger- printing charge. Robert Corston pled guilty toa Terrace Bay P.D. charge of threat- ening. Corston was fined $500 and placed on probation for one year. Corston was also ordered to keep the peace, and abstain from alcohol consumption. Corston is prohibited from Possessing firearms, ammunition or explo- sives for five years. Jamie Figliomeni of Schreiber, pled guilty to aC.P. Police charge of Mischief. He was ordered to pay partial restitution for dam- ages caused in the amount of $1,750. He was placed on proba- tion for one year to be of good behaviour and abstain from con- sumption of alcohol. Alphonse Morriseau of Pays Plat pled guilty to Sexual Assault. He was given a suspended sen- tence and placed on probation for two years. During this time peri- od Morriseau is not to associate with any person under 16 years unless accompanied by another adult. Michael S. Nesbitt of Terrace Bay pled guilty to a Terrace Bay P.D. charge of Possession of a Narcotic. He was fined $150. Walter Robson of Terrace Bay pled guilty to a charge of Impaired Driving. Robson was given a $650 fine and a one year licence suspension. Barry Willan of Schreiber pled guilty to two counts of Impaired Driving. Willan was fined $500 on each charge and a one year licence suspension. Willan's pro- bation order is to keep the peace, abstain from alcohol and seek alcohol rehabilitation. Lise G. Comeau of Schreiber had a lengthy preliminary hearing on the charge of Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking in a Narcotic. A trial date will be set in Thunder Bay for the matter. The first Break and Enter occurred on the 30th of August, 1988 at 4:10 in the morn- ing. Thieves entered through the front door using a pry bar, and once inside took several cases of beer, two bottles of rye, several cartons of assorted cigarettes along with approximately $100 in cash. On the 7th of January, 1989 during the early morning hours thieves once again broke the front door window of Fallen Rock Restaurant. At the age of 65, you no longer have to pay for Ontario Health Insurance Plan (O.H.LP,) coverage of health care costs, But, you must apply for this premium-free cover- age. To qualify for premium-free -Overage you must have been a esident of Ontario for the past 12 nonths. If you have not applied, ind are now 65 or over, you may © paying premiums for coverage ou should be receiving without harge. If your premiums are paid hrough an O.H.LP. group at work, dvise your employer of your pproaching 65th birthday and -quest premium exemption. Your mployer will issue you a Form 04 which you must complete and lail to the nearest O.H.LP. office. If you pay O.H.LP. premiums rectly, or are receiving assistance Ou must apply to your local fice. The necessary forms can be ailed to you or they can be cked up at the Northern evelopment and Mines office in Marathon. If you have lived in Ontario fewer than 12 months and are hav- ing difficulty paying premiums, you may apply to O.H.I.P. for Temporary Premium Assistance. If you are married, your spouse is covered under your family plan. Once you reach 65, your spouse will be exempted from premium payments.
