The Acrobats of the Pagoda thrilled the audience at the Schreiber Arena last week. Among the acts which drew appreciative applause was one in which two performers spun plates...with one balancing the other head-to-head. Here, plate spinning becomes an art form. Event in the planning for one year continued from page 1 aspect of the performance which all enjoyed. Using-a simple-chair-as: a* | prop, two performers in the troupe made the children squeal and the adults laugh as each fought to sit down, while struggling to keep the other off of it. Perhaps those in large cities with subways and transit systems could relate better, but all enjoyed the comedy and appreciated the strength and control displayed. Larivee said organizers began planning for this major event over a year ago. He stated that entertain- ment such as this is good for the community because it "costs the public too much money to travel to Thunder Bay," adding that organiz- ers bring in one major event a year.
