Community notes CWL Meeting The general meeting of St. Martin of Tours C.W.L. was held on April 11. The meeting chaired by Dolores in Sharyn's absence and was opened with League prayer and all the members Intentions. Minutes of the previous meeting were read by Marilyn, followed by the Treasurer's report by Diane. Dolores read the invitation from St. Dominic's Parish in Thunder Bay, which outlined the Annual Convention being held May 3, 4, 5. Evelyn Falzetta and her com- mittee will host this month's birth- day Party at Birchwood terrace on April 21. The convenors' reports were then read. Plans for the Living Rosary to be held May 10 were dis- cussed. the Mother's Day tea and bake Sale will be held on May 7 and will feature a Cake Walk. Luigina has ordered 50 cook books; if anyone wants one, she will take your name. The Feast of Our Lady of Good Council Mass will be held on April 23 at 11.00 am and will be fol- lowed by a luncheon. C.W.L. month will be from April 26 through the month of May. Father Campbell asked us to pray for the hostages in the latest high-jacking. At the close of the meeting, a lovely lunch was served, followed by the Annual Meeting. Fish farming seminar The Four-the Future Group in conjunction with the Ministry of Northern Development and Mines are pleased to sponsor a Seminar on Fish Farming. Seminar Leader: Mr. Richard D. Moccia, Assistant Professor of the Aquaculture Extension Centre at University of Guelph. Topics: This seminar will include an outline of market eco- nomics, production costs, and prof- itability of investment in aquacul- ture. Information on legal, land, water, and facility requirements will be reviewed as well as aspects of fish biology, nutrition, feeding and disease. The seminar will be held on the following dates: Friday May 6, 1988,, 7:00 - 10:00 p.m. Saturday May 7, 1988 9:00 - Noon at the Community Centre in Nakina. The cost to register is $20.00 which includes refreshments and meals served during the seminar sessions. Legion Ladies meeting The Terrace Bay Legion Ladies Auxiliary Board 223 held an exec- utive meeting April 12, 1988 with seven members present. The Schreiber Legion Ladies are having a birthday party and the Terrace Bay Ladies are invited. If you are interested in attending, submit your name by May 7, 1988. There is a form posted up in the Legion Hall. School reunion North Dundas District High School is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year. The community will raise $1,400 for the balance of the equipment's cost. "These fixtures will mean an assured supply of water for Rossport's volunteer team in the west and east section' of the com- munity," Fountaine said. "they will also provide added protection for the Rossport Inn, an historical land- mark in the area." Terrace Police Report Break and Enter investigated Two individuals were charged with Break and Enter after police con- cluded an investigation related to an unauthorized entry of the Terrace Bay Post Office on April 6. Under the Young Offenders Act, the names of the individuals cannot be published. Rash of crimes being investigated Chief D. Kidder said there has been an unusual increase in "smaller type" crimes, which are being presently investigated. The chief said that younger residents appear to be involved, and attributed it to "Spring Fever. Police action is being taken," he said. Notice of Caution policy adopted Terrace Bay police have started a policy whereby residents may re- ceive a caution rather than being charged. Chief Kidder said it is hoped this policy will accomplish three objectives: it should indicate actual policing reports; it should treat people more fairly; and it will be for people "worthy of receiving a caution." Chief Kidder said it will also ensure that an individual receives only one caution for any incident.
