For the 4th straight year, the team has won the coveted Visitor's Award for the out-of-town team that skied the most kilomters in the event. The 25 members participating this year skied a total of 570kilometers. Second place went to the team from Sioux Lookout, which compiled a total of 340 km. Since the Ministry of Natural Resources will no longer maintain the Nordic ski trails, the skiers decided to orga- nize and form a club. Our roll- offs will be done by the second week of April. Terrace Bay will be Hosting the 3rd Annual North Shore tourna- ment on. April 23, 1988. We will host teams from Manitouwadge, Marathon, Red Rock and Nipigon. Each town will send series' win- ners from their respective Men's league, Ladies' league and Mixed league. It will be quite busy at the alleys that day. On March 13, we sent ten bowlers to the National Classifieds Zone Finals in thunder Bay. The bowlers who participated were: Linda Flazetta, Lea Falzetta, Debbie Papineau, Benita Valliant, Claire Bastien, Tom Long, Dan Imbeault, Mike Stortini, Stan Greenwood and Barry Valliant. the Superior Cross-country Ski Club. The executive is quite excited about this venture, and is anxious to prepare for next season. They plan on developing many activities for next winter, while getting the trails in shape this summer. If you are willing to help, you can contact any executive member. Directors are also needed. - Membership will be available soon and fees have been set at $10 for single and $20 for family. The money will go toward expansion and by equipment to groom the trails. We hope to have a waxing clinic at the Fall Fair and a video tape of this year's Thunder Bay Sibley Ski Tour in which 25 members ofthe club recently participated. See you on the trails. to host bowling tourney From the ten zone winners who make up the Thunder Bay district team, three of our own bowlers will be going to the provincial finals in Sudbury on April 9. Congratulations to the three who will be attending: Stan Greenwood, Tom Long and Debbie Papineau; and congratulations to the nine who bowled in the zones as well. By the time, this article is in print, we will have held our 12- hour Bowlathon to raise money. There are seven adult and five youth bowlers in this event. We hope to make it an annual event. The proceeds this year will go to our Northshore tournament, since we are hosting it. Be a sport! If you would like the News to cover a sport- ing event, give us a call at 825-3747.
