They were mostly built in the early 1800s. Across the street is the old Perron house now owned by the Bruley family. Further DR. He later sold it to George Gerow, then Wm. Schelling became the owner; within the last year Daniel became the owner. The Rossport Inn was built by a Mr. Spencer; succeeding owners were the Healys, John Anderson, the Nicols and the present owner is Ned Basher. Romeo Bouchard's home was originally built by the Mogg fam- ily I believe. This building was owned by several other Rossportites before Bouchard purchased the building. Lorraine Seppala's cottage was built by a resident doctor by the name of Brown, later taken over by the Anderson family. The Union Church was origi- nally built by the Presbyterian missions, later known as the United Church when the Presbyterian and Methodist Churches amalgamated, and a few years ago it was named the Union Church, as all protestant clergy of different faiths serviced this mission. Then there is the old Bain property now owned by Colleen Kenney; and the Eli Bruley prop- erty is now owned by Ronnie Legault. Many of these old buildings are in the process of being reno- vated and modernized. All the first stores in the vil- lage have been demolished or burned. They were owned by the Bowmans, the Metcalfs and the Healeys. Later the Deffassios and Gentel families built a small store where the Bill Hubelits now reside.
