"We will not use that (particular) platform again to finish the work (being done by the J. S. Redpath Company)" Dixon said. Difficult situation Dixon said that for Minnova Inc. it is "serious when anyone gets injured let alone killed". In 1985 a Redpath employee -- was killed when an eight-foot ceiling fell and crushed him. Dixon said that there have been no further incidents of rock- falls underground since that time. Minnova Inc. continues to monitor serious rockfalls said Dixon, and a lot of work has been done with rock mechanics and rock reports. I guess we are all recovering from all the events of Canada Day. We all need time to get some of our "set up and go" because I think it "sot up and went". On Tuesday some of our ever- faithful ladies came in to play bridge which of course made our card-playing residents very happy. Some of our residents took a bus ride to Jackfish and had a visit with the Mlllers- they always enjoy these outings. They also spent a cheerful afternoon at the Chimo Club in Schreiber. The folks there are great and always give us a warm welcome. I know many of you know Bill Malcolm who worked-here in Terrace Bay for Palm Dairy. He paid me a visit last week on his way back to Thunder Bay- he was on his honeymoon so I got to meet his new wife Fern. They were married on June 20- both seem to be very happy and I am sure all of Bill's friends wish them the best. I feel I must once more ask those of you who use the drive- way here at Birchwood, please do not do this because in this nice weather our residents are out much more walking around. Try to remember at our age we can't move so fast. Someone could be knocked down and even killed so please stop this. You know who you are and this happened twice last week. ' And now until next time- "Vacations are great levelers. The person who takes one returns home just as broke as the person who stayed home because he couldn't afford to go away".
