Mrs. Eva Gordon acted as secretary in the absence of Mrs. Helen Jartus. The president welcomed all including a visitor, Mrs. A. Klug, of Kelowna, B.C. Also, Mrs. Nellie Molinski, from Vancouver, B.C. Routine business followed. Mr. Fred Harness gave the June Bingo report and Mr. R. Spikula was the winner. 19 members attended the United Church service the previ- ous Sunday and enjoyed a social hour in the Church hall. Mr. Harness volunteered to convene the annual picnic on the 12th of August at the Rainbow Falls Provincial Park. Details will be posted later and those planning to attend please sign at the club room. The Elderobic Moon Walk results were sent in to the U.S.C.O. office. Ten members reported a total of 222 miles. Meeting closed and lunch was served and cards were played. Next meeting will be on Sept. 18. The C.W.L. met in the parish centre for a tea in honour of Rev. Father Peter Groulx who is leav- ing for Dryden, Ontario. Many visitors and people attended. Gifts were given to Father from the C.W.L. and the Parish Council and friends. Two lovely cakes from Costa's and Tomboys were given. Father thanked all. We shall miss you. On Sunday we all met at the CPR depot to attend the picnic. Buses came every half-hour to take us to Rainbow Falls. It was a wonderful day and I think every- body in Schreiber attended as well as from other __ points. There were races and horse- shoes and tug of war and climb- ing the greasy pole. There were canoe races and lots of buns and weiners, pop, chips, donuts and ice cream. It was well-organized. Thanks to all. Welcome back to Schreiber to Mrs. Dydich from Thunder Bay. Joan and Reg McCullough from Hamilton are visiting her mom Mary Sparks and other relations.
