"I used to be a swimming instructor and lifeguard," she said. "I knew what happened. I wanted to live. I thought I was going to die. I wish I had said things to my family that I hadn't. Curling Club. At the Curling Club lounge on Tuesday night, Miss Crawford said that she spent one year in the hospital following the accident- this also involved three months in in- tensive care. Following her recovery, Crawford participated in the film, "*Make sure it isn't you" (This film was shown both at the high school and the curling club). This was when the Ministry of the Attorney General asked her if she would like to take her message on the road. She then she became the ministry's unofficial Ambassadress with her message of don't drink and drive. She has for the last two years been bringing that message to On- tario students and adults. She began doing presentations early in 1985 for the ministry's branch, Drinking and Driving Counter Measures. In 1985, Miss Crawford made 36 presentations in 20 different cities and towns throughout On- tario. During that same year she addressed 22 different schools or colleges, spoke at eight different functions and appeared in three dif- ferent media presentations. She said she found students in the North to be "shy, quiet and reserved". The first question she said high school students aske her is if she can get pregnant. The answer to that is yes. Crawford said she would love to have a family. "'I've got to take time out to get married first," she joked. Eventually she and Scott will be married. Future plans Crawford said that the tour will be finished in June. She said the travelling is getting a little hard. "It's the same story every time- I can't change it," Crawford said.
