Time again for another chat, I hope you are all in the 'pink'. On Tuesday our devoted card players were in and our residents as usual enjoyed their afternoon. Thank-you folks for your kindness. On Wednesday night, the Ladies' Auxiliary of Birchwood had 'Mexican Pub night'. This was a lovely evening for us. We want to thank Mr. Peter Vanderkam for the music he played for us on his accordian and for the 'sing-a-long'. Seems if we don't sing so good anymore we still like to give our 'pipes' some exercise; so to our auxiliary ladies, we say a heart-felt thank-you. At this time, I want to express thanks on behalf of the residents and staff for the beautiful floral gifts from the 'McBride' Family at Easter. i We all miss Fleurette who is in hospital; we love you Fleurette and hope you are feeling well. This little ole lady had another of my sons here for a visit. My No. 1 son Leonard from Roseburg, Oregon, and his father-in-law, Mr. Alex Lafreniere of Kenora. They were guests of Syl and Lou Duquette. : On Friday afternoon, May 1, our bus was again on the highway, some of our residents went into Schreiber to visit the Chimo Club for a 'spot of tea' and a friendly visit. We always enjoy our visits there. I would like to invite all you friends in town to pay usa visit and at the same time pick up some delicious home baking, as the 23rd will by our bake sale, so we look forward to seeing you then. Until next week, I'll close with this very 'sage' piece of advice once said by a very wise old gentleman and I quote, "Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than speak and remove all doubt"- unquote. ~ " - As?
