Read on... North Shore Recreation Directors' Participation Challenge The North Shore Recreation Directors' Fun Run is a 1-mile route which participants young or old can walk; jog, roller skate, bicycle, skateboard, pull a wagon or push a stroller. Par- ticipation is the Ultimate goal. This year's Fun Run has been scheduled for Monday, May 25, from 7-9 p.m. starting at the Terrace Bay Recreation Centre. In a recent closed meeting, the Terrace Bay Recreation Department received an applica- tion from the Schreiber Recrea- tion Director requesting the possibility of trying out for this year's Terrace Bay Fun Run Team. This application will depend on the outcome of his tryout scheduled for early next week. Programs The next session of the popular exercise classes, Aerobics and Non-impact Aerobics will presented at the following times. Contact the recreation department at 3542 for registration. This year's show promises to be the largest and most interesting yet. New this year is the full rental of the upstairs portion of the Dove Building, located near the corner of the CLE Grounds close to the intersection of Northern and Memorial Avenues. _ This space has added 25 display areas and a stage to an already sold- out event. The Dove Building will be the site of daily fashion shows, featuring sum- mer styles by Kettle Creek Canvas and aerobic and dancewear from Body Shape. Another Trade Show favorite will be "Woody", the Talking Tree, from the Ministry of Natural Resources booth, also located outside the Dove building. Another special display is a fully- equipped March Cosworth, a 1986 In- dianapolis Championship car. This top racing car will be brought to Trade Show by the members of the Interna- tional Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers. To date, 191 indoor display areas and 130 outdoor spaces are reserved. Only 10 outdoor booths are available . A total of 215 exhibitors have registered to participate in Trade Show 87. The Chamber of Commerce is also pleased to announce that the Honourable John Eakins, minister of Tourism and Recreation for Ontario, will be the guest speaker at the Spring Interim Meeting and Trade Show Kick- Off Luncheon. Mr. Eakins has expressed his ge- nuine interest in the development of Northwestern Ontario tourism and has visited this area on several occasions. The Trade Show will be held on May 7, 8 and 9, at the CLE Grounds. Hours are noon to 10 p.m. on Thurs- day and Friday, and noon to 8 p.m. on Saturday. Admission is free and the attendance prize is a free trip for two to Amster- dam. Holland, the gateway to Europe, compliments of Canadian Airlines International. See you there!
