Bill was the driving force behind a group of skiers from the Schreiber-Terrace Bay area who were affectionately known as the North Shore Nerdics. It was no surprise last year when Bill's fantastic enthusiasm was able to create a team to win the Visitor's Award. In his honour we have renam- ed this trophy, which goes to the out- of-town team that skis the greatest distance, The Bill Smilsky Memorial Trophy. We are honoured that Bill's parents have accepted our invitation to present the trophy at the awards banquet."' The award was presented by Bill's father, Mike, who attended the Banquet with his wife Mira. Anne Wilkes accepted the plaque on behalf of the North Shore Nerdics.
