M.P.P. receives response from Fulton Mr. Gilles Pouliot, M.P.P. Lake Nipigon Riding. Dear Gilles: In response to the proposal ex- pressed in your letter of January 15, 1987, that the federal and pro- vincial governments join forces to double the capacity of the Trans- Canada Highway between the com- munity of Nipigon and the On- tario/Manitoba boundary, I agree 'that an improved Highway 17 cor- ridor would be economically beneficial at both the local and na- tional levels. In addition, it could prove to be a catalyst in attracting a greater number of tourists to Northern Ontario. A bilateral agreement between the federal and provincial govern- ments is essential for funding ma- 'jor interprovincial transportation initiatives, such as the Trans- Canada Highway. As | stated im my letter of December 18, 1986, I have per- sonally raised the issue of joint fun- ding with the federal transport minister. I will continue to solicit his support for such a project. continued on page 13 C FANTASY Fantasy -Flowers & gifts BRIDAL Gowns Bridesmaid Dresses & Wedding Flowers -Beautiful Hats Call (705) 856-7318 Coming to TERRACE BAY MARCH 14, 1987 at the Terrace Bay Recreation Centre (Conference Room) 9:00 a.m: to 9:00 p.m. Make sure you drop in and see these beautiful items
