I don't know where time goes, but February is on its way out. Well if spring can hurry and arrive that would be great. I guess some parts of the coun- try had a milder winter. I got a letter from my daughter in Alaska and she said in all her 22 years there, this has been the best- they only had about 10 days of 32 degrees below zero when they usually have 45 to 52 degrees below zero- so maybe we will have nicer winters- sure would be OK don't you think? Last Thursday and Friday we had a visit from the pupils of Junior and Senior Kindergarten from the public school. Lud oe B By Winnie Campbell Friends gathered at the home of Mr. Kinney to wish him a happy birthday. Lunch was served by his friends. Also it was Mr. Morris's (Shorty) birthday. Mrs. Kay Corbett and Ernestine Hucul are her visiting their Mom, Eleanor O'Connor. "Get Well' Nonie, from all your friends. accordingly. Licence suspended A local resident had his licence suspended for 12 hours after being found driving while under the in- fluence of alcohol. Cars and snowmobiles Police investigated one motor vehicle accident and one snowmobile accident. A youth was charged for driv- ing a snowmobile without a licence and complaints were received regarding road _ conditions, snowmobile activity and noise. Ap- propriate action was taken in all cases. Highway crossing Radar patrol of the highway has been increased, particularly during the hours when school children are crossing. Several warnings have been issued and charges laid for speeding. These little ones sang for us then they gave us Valentine hearts and a treat of cookies they made themselves. We enjoyed their visit and would like to thank their teachers for bringing them to see us. We also had a delightful treat on Valentine's Day- the Ladies' Guild of the Community Church made place cards in the spirit of the day. When we came down to lunch we found a cut gift at each of our places at the tables. This was so very. thoughtful of these ladies and on behalf of the residents I would like to thank them for their thoughtfulness- we love you all. On Thursday, February 19, the Ladies' Auxiliary, Canadian Legion, Terrace Bay Branch, were hostesses for our residents' birth- day party. After coffee and cake we all enjoyed some bingo- that always makes the residents happy. Our birthday 'kids' this month were Josephine Kaufman, Cliff Barker and Wallace Avery, and to them we wish 'A Happy Birthday' and our thanks to the ladies of the Legion for all they do for us. And now for a joke. '"'A customer told a hardware store clerk that she wanted a %-inch pipe plug. The clerk. asked, 'Do you want a male plug, a female plug or both?' 'I just want to stop a leak,' the woman replied, 'I don't plan to raise them'."' Until next time, keep your powder dry.
