Unused food Above is food that wasn't used to feed hungry dancers at the Kinsmen's Dance-a-thon on Fri- day, Dec. 12 at the high school. The Kinsmen would again like to thank Costas and the Imperial Restaurant for donating the food. For more in- formation, contact the Kinsmen or the News. Jewellery ideal for gift-giving Terrace Bay-Schreiber News, Wednesday, December 17, 1986, page 11 Schreiber Library N@WS secs A large selection of books from the Ontario Library Service is now on the shelves, just waiting for readers. Besides fiction and non-fiction, are books in French, Italian, Finnish and Chinese, as well as many books in large-type print. The children's section is well- stocked with 'picture' books. At this busy time of the year, we hope our patrons will drop in and pick a book to help them relax after a hec- tic day of Christmas preparations. The Women's Drop-In group spent a very enjoyable afternoon with Mrs. Elinor Gold of Terrace Bay, who demonstrated wreath-making and other ideas for Christmas decorating. The library staff and board members are planning a Christmas party for the children's Story Hour, to be held Satur- day, Dec. 13 at 2 p.m. Two board members, Mrs. Pam McKeever and Mrs. Helen Stokes, along with members of Project May- day, are actively working on a funding application for a Community Literacy program. They will also be seeking support letters from different organizations in the community. It is hoped that this project can be started as soon as funds become available. The Christmas block of films from the National Film Board is now in the library and may be borrowed by groups or individuals for their Christms parties. The Librarian, Mrs. Teresa Stortini, Board Members Mrs. Donna Mikiluk and Mrs. Norah McGuire, attended the O.L.A. Conference in Toronto and agreed it was a very worthwhile convention. The Ontario Library Service- Nipigon, has ordered tapes of the con- ference as well as the Ministry Age- itation Seminar, and these will be available to other board members who were unable to attend.
