Page 6, Terrace Bay-Schreiber News, Wednesday, November 5, 1986 Jamboree scheduled Submitted by the Schreiber Recreation Committee The Third Annual North Shore Recreation Director's Ringette Jam- boree will be hosted by the Schreiber Ringette Club and Schreiber Parks and Recreation on November 8 and 9. The purposes of this Jamboree are: (1) to promote ringette on the North Shore, (2) to learn the skills of the game, (3) to play against girls from other communities on an evenly mat- ched team, and (4) to have fun, develop friendships and sportman- ship with the players and coaches of the region. : The selection of teams will be done on a random basis, according to ex- perience or non-experience. Girls participating are all eight to 12 years old. Girls are coming this year from Geraldton, Longlac, Marathon, Man- itouwadge, Nakina, Terrace Bay, Schreiber, and White River. There will be a total of 120 girls par- ticipating this year. Besides playing ringette, the girls will also have an action-packed weekend as they will be learning the skills fo curling, courtesy of the Schreiber Curling Club, as well as floor hockey at the Lake Superior High School Schreiber campus. Fun activities at the Schreiber Recreation Complex will also be provided. A supper will be held for the girls on Saturday evening at the Schreiber Complex Hall. A meeting of the North Shore Ringette Association will be held on Saturday night as well. Sunday, after a luncheon and awards presentation, the girls will depart for their respective home towns; happy, tired, and eager to meet their new friends at future ringette tournaments during the winter months. In other recreation news, aerobic classes will begin the week of Nov. 10. Days and times have not yet been finalized.
