There is no doubt this will be quite a change for many of the town citizens, but we all knew since May that something like this would happen. We can only hope things will pick up at the mill so that more drastic measures will not have to be taken. To those of you whose services have been termin- ated, our wish for you is good luck in finding new employment. without too many hardships. For those of you who may be leaving Terrace Bay, may we say we will miss you, but please know you take our good wishes with you, and may this ole girl say Vaya Con Dios...Go with God. At this time, I would like to say a word about the young students who have been working for the sum- mer here at Birchwood. Chris and his helpers have done very good work: re- pairing, painting, and keeping the grounds in such wonderful condition. To the young ladies who also have been working, taking the residents out shopping or for walks and playing cards with them, to you young people our thanks and our best wishes for a successful school year. Went to Thunder Bay last Wednesday and I went to see Blanche Speck at St. Joseph Hospital. She ask- ed me to thank those of you who have sent her get well cards. This helps a lot when a person has been in hospital as long as Blanche has since March 4. Thanks. Don't forget our Fall Fair on September 14.
