After her speech, though, the Grade 8 student received something herself. She was awarded the school's General Proficiency award for top marks. PUBLIC MEETING PROPOSED OFFICIAL PLAN Township of Schreiber TAKE NOTICE That the Council of the Corporation of the Township of Schreiber will hold a Public Meeting on July 28, 1986 at 7:30 p.m. at the Recreation Complex on Langworthy Street to consider an Official Plan under Section 17 of The Planning Act, 1983. The Official Plan will guide future land use and develop- ment in the Township. The Official Plan divides the Township amongst various land use designations and sets out policies regarding land use within each of these designations. The Plan also describes the Township's policies in respect to, amongst other matters, land divi- sion (consents and subdivision), community improve- ment, site plan control, local property conditions, group homes and the methods for informing residents of pro- posed minor Amendments to the Official Plan and Zon- ing By-law. Any person may attend the Public Meeting and/or make written or verbal representation either in support of or in opposition to the proposed Official Plan. Additional information relating to the proposed Official Plan, and a copy of the proposed Plan, are available for inspection between 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. and 1:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. at my office. Clerk-Treasurer 608 Winnipeg Street, Schreiber, Ontario POT 2S0O June 19 was Graduation Day for students at both Terrace Bay Public School and Schreiber Public, with awards presented to out- standing graduates at each annual ceremony. Both schools also decid- ed not to have guest speak- ers this year and went with valedictorians instead. At Terrace Bay's graduation, this tumed out to be Alyson Graham, while in Schreib- er there were co-valedict- orians, Jennifer O*Reilly and Krisha Tessier. The. General Proficiency Award for top marks in the graduating class in Terrace Bay went to Alyson Gra- ham, while in Schreiber that award was presented to both Krisha Tessier and Jennifer OReilly. Catherine Birch won the Effort and Ability plaque at the Schreiber ceremony. In Terrace Bay, that award re- sulted in a tie between J.J. Davis and Jason Douglas. The Most Improved stu- dent award in Terrace Bay went to Wendi-Deanne Whittaker, while Kathy Wiseman took that plaque in Schreiber. The Highest Average in Science and Math trophy was awarded to J.J. Davis in Terrace Bay. William Roen was the winner of that award in Schreiber. He also took home the plaque for Most Improved Student in English, known as the Sage Literary Award in Terrace Bay, where Khris Turpin was the winner. There were 14 graduat- ing Grade 8 students at Schreiber Public School this year. They were Cath- erine Birch, Jason Fortier, Earl Gerow, Jason Iddison, Christopher Krause, Tom Loumala, Albert Martin, Shaine Martin, Eric Niemi, Jennifer O'Reilly, William Roen, Colin Scott, Krisha Tessier, and Kathy Wise- man. A total of 29 received their diplomas at Terrace Bay Public School on June 19. They were as follows: Corinne Bouchie, Shawn Bursey, Michael Clements, J.J. Davis, Tanya Ditch- field, Jason Douglas, Mike Duhaime, Belinda Earle, Fleurette Earle, Alyson Graham, Michael Holmes, Tiffany Jowitt, Tara Krael- ing, and Jack Lavallet; Lisa Merkley, Shannon Moore, Cindy Orlesky, Sheri Payette, Nicola Poll- ard, Richard Pollard, Carol Rippengal, Tawnya Robin- son, Derek Roy, Cheryl Slawson, Cindy Sopel, Jamie Speer, Khris Turpin, Wendi-Deanne Whittaker, and Angela Ziegler.
