Customers told her how much they enjoyed the unpeeled taste, and so she never did plug that potato peeler in. She decided to open the shop after returning from Europe on May 17 follow- ing a seven month visit to that continent. At first the take-out rest- aurant was just going to sell homemade fries and ham- burgers, but then she ex- panded the menu to include some other items, like big sandwiches and pizza pops. Her biggest seller at the store, located in a building owned by her father at the Mill Road intersection off Highway 17, is something called the LC Bronco Bur- ger, which is a quarter- pound hamburger with all the trimmings. The name comes from its inventor, Lorraine Des- auliniers, who made the burger recipe and design. The french fries come in three different sizes and are cut fresh every day, Mar- cella explained. As for the name of the store, she said that some- body had asked her who wouid be making the fries once the restaurant was open, and she replied they would be "my fries," and that sounded as good a name as any. Two full-time cooks have been hired for the shop as well as three part- "time students. My Fries is open at 6:30 a.m. with a full line of breakfast food and closes at 11 p.m., or 12 midnight on weekends. To place your order ahead of time, she urges customers to call 825- 9625.
