N. is resting while I boil some drinking water. Boil some what?! Well, you see, since everything is new in this camper, there appears to be disinfectant in the water tank. We have emptied and refilled but still find an un- pleasant taste, and what it does to a pot of coffee is unprintable! So I boil some for five minutes, pour it back and forth between two saucepans a few times, then put it in a jug in the fridge. 8:30 p.m.--Another nice (!) long walk, with one more experiment to do: check the hot water heater. We left that till the last because we don't expect to need it much. The starting noise of the bumer was jar- ring on a quiet evening, but the flow of hot water from the taps was worth it! We now feel we are masters of the modern machine. Mm-- mmm! May 25: What can I say?
