Classes will be held twice a week on Tues- day at the Public School from 6 to 8 p.m. and Thursday in the Con- ference Room from 6 to 8 p.m. There is a maximum registration of 25 and the first 25 will be accepted. Room - Feb. 15-- | to 5 p.m. Winter Carnival: Public School - Feb. 14 - Fun Day for all students. The Terrace . Bay Recreation Committee will be presenting a new Karate program. This program is a Japanese style (Shotokan) karate form. The instructor will be Frank Pullia who has a brown belt level of expertise in this sport. There are hopes that with the enrollment in this program a Karate club will be formed here in Terrace Bay which will be sanction- ed by the Ontario Karate Association. Call the Recreation Office at 3542 'for more information. Karate (Frank Pullia) The Karate program will commence on February 18. 'This program is open to' Recreation members ages 10 years and up. Frank Deadline to register is February 12. Call the of- fice today at 3542. Squash One Tournament Week The popular one week , Squash Tournament will be held February 24 to March 3. All participants are guaranteed two matches. Merchandise prizes will be awarded simply -- by registering. Trophies will be awarded to winner in respective division. Divisions will be A, B and Novice. We encourage our squash players to get back in the regular swing and prepare for the tourna- ment. We extend a special invitation to. people who would like to try.the sport. Remember. free instruc- tions will be provided if you wish to try the sport. Racquetball Players We will also hold a one week Tournament beginn- ing on March 3rd_ for recreation | members. Details at the office. Dieting or looking for a way to personal fitness try squash or racquetball. Calories burned in a 45 minute court booking, ap- proximately 800. We have racquets available for rental. Programs Art from the Oven: (Donna Mikeluk) - There are several more openings in this course which will take place this weekend, February 7 to Friday even- ing from 7 to 10 p.m. and Saturday 10 a.m. to 12 noon Drying Plants: (Eleanor Gould) - Learn how to col- lect dry and preserve plants for arrangements and decorating purposes by at- tending this one day seminar. Also -see a demonstration on the mak- ing of-a-Pot Pourri. Kids Crafts: (Donna Mikeluk) - This course is under way but there are several more openings for enrolment. Call the Recreation Office at 3542. Jazz Dancing: (Angela Prince) - There are more openings in this Jazz Dan- cing -program where the participants can learn the intricacy of Jazz. There will be a warm up and floor exercises involved with this . program. Starting date February 24 at St. Martin School at 6 p.m. General Makeup: (Ag- gie Iwanczyk) - This course had to be cancelled due to lack of registration. We will continue taking names of those interested when we will set up another date for this pro- gram to commence. Gourmet Cooking: (Carolyn Cotton) - We must have a minimum, of 15 persons registered in order to present this course. Call today at 3542. Children's Microwave (Carolyn : Cotton) - Children between the ages of 7-12 years will be taught 'how to use the Microwave and prepare a_ special menu. This course will take place Saturday March 1 Photography (Pat Marcella): There are a few more openings available for those who would like to learn how to work a 35 mm, camera and use of various lens and creative filters and flash systems. Picture framing: (Ed Taylor) - The response to this program is coming along and we will be rescheduling at a future date.
