Last summer nine students from across Northwestern On- tario spent two months living with Chinese families in Taiwan and learning Mandarin-Chinese. All high school principals have been sent details of the program. A slide show, followed by an information meeting, will be held in: Terrace Bay on December 14, 7:00 p.m. at Terrace Bay High School, Room 104. All residents of Terrace Bay are cordially invited to come and see the slide show, which is entitled "Life In The Other China." Refreshments. Enquiries contact: Gabriel Fritzen. Bits and Bites Hello Folks! Well we sure had a nice snow storm so I guess if anybody was scared of not having snow for Christmas rejoice! it's here. This snow serves to remind us to be extra careful driving, it's better to take some extra time then to drive too fast and end up in a nasty accident. This will give a festive look to our Home along with the tree and other Christmas decorations. On the 21st we had our p monthly residents birthday party for our two "Birth- day Kids" - Lea Cormier age 82 and Felix Legault age 81. Our hostesses were the ladies of the Moose. We all enjoyed a few games of Bingo after our cake and coffee. We would like to thank these Ladies for their work on our behalf. At this time we would like to wish all our friends at Costa's Grocery on the occasion of their 25th An- niversary. Our heart felt congratulations and_ best wishes for many more years serving the folks in our town. We had a real cliff hanger last week when our residents engaged in a shuf- fle board tournament and our super winner was William DePerry, also we have 2 real good pool players and now that we have a new pool table these gentlemen want to challenge both the Legion and the Moose for a game of pool how about it guys, any takers? I am sure we will have a good time. If you are interested and would like to set up a game call Joan LeBlanc. We will look forward to this. Maybe some of you folks saw an item in the Terrace Bay Brochure in the Tourist Centre about Birchwood along with a picture of one of our residents - Bill Dodds sit- ting at the front entrance playing his violin. Children's Christmas Crafts The Recreation Depart- ment is. offering a Children's Christmas Crafts program under the instruction of Donna Mikeluk on Saturday, November 30th from 1:30 to 4:00 p.m. The workshop will offer a variety of crafts for children ages 7 to 12. If enough interest is shown Ms. Mikeluk will run a craft program for the children in the new year.
