Recreation News Schreiber Skate Exchange The Recreation Depart- ment has planned a Skate Exchange for the evening of October 18, between 7:00 and 8:00 p.m. in Dressing Room I of the complex. Please note that this will be the first session of public skating. If you have skates you would like to exchange or simply have skates you would like to sell, then drop into Dressing Room I of the complex Friday, Oc- tober 18 between 7 and 8 p.m. Recreation Programs The Recreation Depart- ment would like to offer the following courses. Minor Skate-a-thon Schreiber Minor Hockey Association will be holding their Annual Skate-a-thon Saturday, October 19 from 12:00 noon to. 8:00 p.m. Sponsor sheets will be distributed through the schools and are also available at the recreation office. Come out and sup- port Minor Hockey!! Learn to Skate Schreiber Parks and Recreation is pleased to be offering a "Learn to Skate" program this year. The program is being run under the instruction of Mrs. Anne-Miller and will run each Monday and Wednesday afternoon from 2 p.m.to 3 p.m. commen- cing Wednesday, October 30th, and running to Mon- day, December 9. The pro- gram is open to everyone ages 2 and up. Helmets are mandatory for the children. Parents do not have to go on the ice with their children but it is advised that they do stay in the building during their child's lesson. Please note that if enough interest is shown a morning session will also be offered. Badminton The Schreiber Badmin- FRICTION-AIR FURANCE The new efficient way to same money in home heating. The Schreiber Parks and Recreation Committee in conjunction with the Schreiber O.P.P. will be offering an "Age of Ma- jority Card"* service. The service will take place Thursday, November-21st from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. in the Games Room of the recreation complex. You are required to bring a birth or baptismal certificate. Level 1 and 2 Coaches Clinic If enough interest is shown the Schreiber Recreation Department will organize a Level | and 2 theory clinic for coaches. Level | and 2 applies to all sports and deals with the theory of coaching, motivation, sportsmanship and dealing with com- petitive children. If you or your group are interested in this program leave your name and phone number and the' sport you will be representing at the recrea- tion office. Exercise Classes The recreation depart- ment would like to offer the following exercise classes under the instruction of Betty Tate-Pineau. A basic exercise class for -~ those who find aerobics a little too strenuous. These classes would be held twice a week at the recreation complex. Also an exercise class for our "mature™' citizens.
