Lessons. are scheduled to begin Tues- day, July 2nd. The children will be bused to White Sand Lake. Instructors for the year are Debbie Birch, Kara Klassen, Kenton Klassen, Candace McLellan and Kerry O'Brien. Registration Deadline is Monday, June 24th, 1985. Summer Program The Summer Fun Pro- gram is scheduled to begin Tuesday, July 2nd in the arena. An exciting agenda of activities has been plann- ed for the children this summer. The Tot Drop In will be held again this sum- mer twice a week at the complex. Ball Hockey The Schreiber Ball League began on May 28th. The Ball Hockey League hopes to plan a tournament during the summer. Mixed Slowpitch Mixed Slowpitch con- tinues every weekend at the High School Ball Park. Stop by to see some ex- citing ball games. The stan- dings are unavailable at this time but when received they will be published in the paper. Terrace Bay Swimming Pool: Pool Hours until regular schedule starts are as follows: June 20 - 4 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. and 7:00 - 9:00 p-m.; June 21 - 4 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. and 7:00 - 9:00 p.m.; June 22-30 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 - 8:00 p.m. Daily; July 1 - Clos- ed; July 2 - Regular Lessons and Summer Schedule will be posted at the pool. Swim Lessons: Registration forms are now available for both July and August lessons. The deadline to register for the July session is June 24th. There is a maximum allow- ed so registration accepted on a first come basis. Tennis Court: A reminder to tennis players that the key allowing access is available at the Recrea- tion Office. Recreation Membership is required to use the courts. Minor Ball Program: The program is underway thanks to the following Adults who volunteered to coach this year. Brenda Harper, Janice Wilson, Diane Rennette, Gary An- drews, Clarke Studdard, Rod Walton, Dan Vien- neau, Betty Ellsworth, Jon Figliomeni Joanne Moore, Al Jensen, Tim Wilson, Betty St. Amand, Sherry Jowitt, Carol Gugelyk, and Cecilia Kaizer. These peo- ple are looking for helpers so they also can have time for holidays. The first scheduled Minor Ball Fun Day is scheduled for June 22 at the High School field. This fun day will include Boys and Girls ages 8 - 12 years. Teams from Red Rock and Schreiber will participate. Two fun days are planned in Terrace Bay and two in Schreiber. Canada Day Celebra- tion: Ollie Chapman and her volunteer group have put together what looks to ~be an enjoyable Canada Day weekend celebration. the Recreation Tot Lot staff will handle the children events and will have a * schedule for the children of what they can participate in. Sports Travelcade: will visit Terrace Bay July 10 - 12 and will hold clinics in Tennis, Golf and-Soccer. A finalized schedule will be posted in next weeks paper. Arena Glass: There are still pieces of Plexiglass 4'x4' to be sold. If in- terested call 3542. Fitness Trail: The work has begun on Terrace Bay's newest recreational facility, a "Fitness Trail". The trail will start and end at the Curling Club parking lot. Four students thanks to aS.E.E.D. grant have been hired to construct this trail. Any suggestions on an ex- ercise station along this route would be ap- preciated. If you see a trail that interests you please call 3542 and let us know about it. Men's Slow Pitch Tournament: The Men's Slow Pitch League will be holding their 3rd Annual Tournament July 26, 27. 28. This Tournament is restricted to communities under 6,000 population therefore the Tournament should provide some in- teresting spectator viewing. Teams wishing to register are reminded that the first 16 Teams registered will be accepted. All Teams guaranteed 3 Games. Over $1,500 in prize money. Con College grads On Saturday, June 8 1985, Confederation Col- lege of Applied Arts and Technology held its 18th graduation ceremony. The following students graduated from Terrace Bay: Michell J. Track and Field The Lake Superior Board of Education annual track meet was held in Manitouwadge on June 6th. Local students com- peted and were very suc- cessful in all events. Shane Jowitt was the winner of most events in *'A" divi- sion, and captured the in- dividual championship for that group. Andrea Capy won in the "B" division while Jason Iddison was the most successful in **C" division. Following, is a list of the students and their awards.
