Trains by Lisa Rochon Grade 3 I like to ride on trains. They are fun to ride on and are very important to Canada. When World War 2 was fought, many trains carried thousands of tons of war supplies. Trains open- ed this country for people from other countries who settled on farms and ran- ches. Travellers from coast to coast see many beautiful scenic places on trains, the north shore of Lake Superior, grain fields of the iries, the mountains of British Columbia. Trains can be short or as long as one and a quarter miles. Trains are sometimes built in miniature. They also carry people, but only a few at a time. My grandpa has a train that runs on tracks only 15 inches wide. The tracks go around. My Granpa made the train and the tracks by himself. The first time I had a ride on his train, I was a baby. I always get to ride on the train free. I once rode on a big train. It was fun on the big train. I got to see in the engine. It is hot inside the engine. My Grandpa has a toy train. It can go on 4 tracks. It goes around. I like trains. . Dinosaurs by Collin Folz Grade 3 Dinosaurs lived long ago. I would be the only person with all those dinosaurs. I would ride on Tyrannosaurus Rex as we attack Triceratops. We would win and I could watch Tyrannosaurus Rex eat his supper. I would love to swim in the warm lagoons. I would climb up on Brontasaurus' neck and dive into the water. I could play hide and go seek with my friends and hide under Brachiosaurus' tummy. My best buddy is Stegosaurus. Since he is a plant eater, I would have supper with him. We would sit and eat fern trees and strawberries. I would like to swing from tree to tree like Tarzan through the jungle and catch a ' gorilla. I could dig under the ground and get back up. I could find a cave and live in it. I would get bored so I would go outside and find my friends, then have a shower in the lagoon. I would use Allosaurus' skin for a towel. I would go back to my cave and live happily ever after.
