Any woman who has a ge- nuine concern about Magnus Theatre to set Thunder Bay on Fire On April 11, 1985, Magnus Theatre will unveil the World Premiere of the evangelic rock musical Fire by Paul Ledoux and David Young. Created by the team that captured the na- tional imagination with the premiere of I Love You Anne Murray last April, Fire is an exploration of the instincts that gave birth to both the early rock-a-billy music of the 1950's and the marriage of Christian fun- damentalism and politics in the 1980's. Side A (Act 1) takes place in the years 1957-1961 and tells of the meteoric rise and fall of" Cale Blackwell (Peter Willson). Cale is a young man who temporarily breaks out of his Baptist upbringing by playing what his conscience says is '*Satan's" music and what we have come to know as Rock and Roll. Side B (Act 2) takes place in the years 1978-80 and follows the life of Herschell Blackwell (Jerry Franken), Cale's brother and a man equally as devoted to putting Jesus in- to the hearts of millions as his brother was to singing the praises of the evil. Herschell does this each Sunday through the medium of the 'electronic pulpit', his power becom- ing so strong that he is ac- tually in a position to deter- mine the outcome of a Thank you Our heartfelt thanks to our family and friends for all the kindness shown to us on the passing of a beloved daughter and sister Esther Riley.
