Page 2, Terrace Bay-Schreiber News, Wednesday, March 13, 1985 By HELENE BALLARD A warm hello to all of you, I hope everyone was able to "weather" the winter storms since my last visit to your homes via the Terrace Bay News. Last Wed. night I thought part of Birchwood was going sailing in Lake Superior, I guess it sounded worse than what it was but from - my room it sounded as if everything was going to shake loose. Well March is a bad month for this so all we can do is "'batten down the hatches, hold on to your hats -- and false teeth and wait for nicer weather."' We have several events for March here at the home. First off will be our St. Patrick's Tea March 16th from 2 p.m. to4 p.m. There will be a door prize. I hope all those with Irish blood in them and those who wish they were Irish will come to the tea. This ole Gal had an Irish mother which makes me half Irish although I don't know which half, but I'll be wearing something green anyway. The next event on our calendar is a "card night"' March 25th at 7 p.m. There will be bridge, crib- bage and ramoli, also there will be door prizes. A tas- ty lunch will be served by the ladies auxliary. Price of admission is $5.00 per per- son, $20 per table, persons over 60 is $2.50. The pro- ceeds going towards the purchase of a new bus so how about getting up 'a table of friends, come over and enjoy yourself while Schreiber Scribbles Again from Schreiber this week, Marg Harris, Susan and Isabelle Bourtski have just returned from Florida on their holidays and said the weather was great. It will be on the 21st when we will again enjoy one of Leo's yummy cakes. I hope he takes the calories out. At this time we would like to thank the Legion for their donation of 2 dart boards, and to Peter Gilbert for putting them up in the rec room. Our residents are really enjoy- ing their dart games which gives us one more reason for living. We are grateful to the townspeople for their thoughtfulness on our behalf. I would like also to say "'thank you" to the gentlemen. on _ their snowmobiles, there are still a few who roar by but for those of you who did the same thing but have stop- ped, our grateful thanks. Now we can sleep much better without the noise you see, just a bit of considera- tion for your fellow man sure can pay off. I was so happy about this that I had to put in this "thank you."' . My bite this week is on- ly a "puppy bite" but I have had several people ask me why I am getting crab- by in my old age, well Iam not, but when folks ask me to put in a "'bite", I feel I must, after all that's the name of this column. Every week, and before I write I always. check out the bite and talk it over with my peers, so please don't think I'm cross because I still like to joke and laugh, my sense of humour is still with me. Until next "week remember, "If we do not have all we like in this world, we must like what we have."' r Help your Heart... Helo your Ee Heart Fund ep St. Patrick's Bingo Thurs.
