by VIVIAN LUDINGTON It wasn't the yellow brick road, but just as entertaining, was the per- formance put on by the grade sevens at Terrace Bay Public School. Like years past, with students now in High School, the grade sevens turned the gym into a magical land of Valentia. With the help of both homeroom teacher, Mrs. B. Bagdon, and the music teacher, Mrs. 'A. wilkes the show came off . with only minor complications. The cast of eight main characters, and the rest of the class holding up their parts, in-a top notch perfor- mance, should all be very pleased with themselves. The play itself was call- ed "The Tree of Hearts"' and was performed on Valentine's Day and was written by Jane McGowan. It is about a King (played by J.J. Davis) who decrees that his head gardener (played by Shane Bursey) is to develop a special tree for his son the Prince's (Michael Homes) 10th bir- thday, which happens to be February 14th. But as the birthday is only 2 days away, it seems a hopeless task. The gardeners wife (Alison Grahama) and his daughter (Y. VaNNes) are upset as the King said they would all be banned from the city of Valentia if he did not succeed. But just in time along comes two World Wide Opportunities Make more money working overseas in countries like Kuwait, Saudi Arabic, etc. Also Alaska and NWT. Workers ded are tourists from Canada, Dale Dawson (Michael Clements) and his sister, Gail (Angela Zigler) to save the day. They decide to decorate a tree that is already grow- ing in the forest near Valentia with Valentine's The Tree of Hearts cut out of red paper that have love messages written on them. The Prince loves the tree, and the day is sav- ed, and they all learn the meaning of our Valentine Day celebration from Dale and Gail. It is about how St. Valentine was killed on February 14th by his enemies, and how a beautiful almond tree grew and blossomed over his grave. And that is the end of the story. Once again may we all congratulate all the grade sevens on a job well done. IT'S RSP TIME.
